Easily update all relevant Salesforce fields while on calls taking notes or managing your pipeline.

Field sets group related fields together so you can drill down and 1-click update any field associated with an account, opportunity, contact, or lead.

Using Field Sets

While taking notes, click on the field sets icon to access, update, and create field sets.

While on your pipeline view, click on the 3 dots next to the name of the record and select Open Field Sets.

πŸ’‘ Pro Tip 1: Get quick access to related records by selecting the drop down arrow next to the name of the current record and clicking on the related account, opportunity, contact, or lead.

πŸ’‘ Pro Tip 2: While taking notes in Dooly, you can update additional fields related to your call in a field set. Here's how to update secondary task details.

πŸ’‘ Pro Tip 3: Update contact info while taking notes. In your note, click on a meeting attendee who is already a contact and update any contact level information in the field set sidebar too.

Creating & Sharing Field Sets

Here are some ideas to get started:

Think of the fields you need to update or reference together. Also reference how your fields are grouped in sections on your page layout in Salesforce.

  • Opportunity field sets: discovery, closed won, closed lost, next steps, sales methodology (ex. MEDDIC, BANT)

  • Account field sets: next steps, success plan, billing and order details, renewal and expansion, advocacy, at risk, cancelled

How to create a field set:

  1. Go to Pipeline and select a record type icon (accounts, opportunities, contacts, leads) from the top left corner

  2. Hover over a record and select the Open field sets icon

  3. Click on the dropdown menu next to Salesforce Fields and select Add a field set

  4. Give it a name and click the +/- Fields button to add fields to the field set

How to share a field set:

Once you've created your field set and want to share it with your team:

  1. Click on the dropdown menu next to the name of the field set

  2. Click on the three dots next to the field set name

  3. Select Share to share with specific people, roles, or everyone at your company

✨ Voila! Now your team will have access to that group of fields too.
